In a high-scoring WODI match at Chinnaswamy Stadium, India Women's team and South Africa Women's team combined scored 646 runs, with India eventually hard earned a thrilling victory by a margin of just four runs. 

This historic contest saw a record-breaking achievement as four centuries were scored in a single Women's ODI for the first time ever.  In 2018, in a match between England Women and South Africa Women witnessed the feat of three centuries in a game, a record that stood until today.

Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur, vice captain Smriti Mandhana, South African captain Laura Wolvaardt  and Marizanne Kapp are the four century scorers of the game.


Harman and Mandhana led Indian attack

Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana are to the Indian women's team what Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are to the Indian men's team.  Both prolific batters scored brilliant tons against South Africa Women, today. 

Smriti  Mandhana who became world rank number 3 batter in ICC Women ODI batter ranking recently, scored a spectacular century, making 136 runs off 120 deliveries with 18 boundaries and 2 sixes. Smriti had scored a century in the first ODI as well.

At the same time, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur played an outstanding innings, remained unbeaten on 103 runs off 88 balls, which included 9 fours and 3 sixes. Harmanpreet Kaur was awarded the Player of the Match for her performance.

Laura Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp fought back

South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp fought back against India, with Laura scoring an unbeaten 135 off 135 balls and Kapp contributing a quick 114 off 94 balls. However, it was Harmanpreet's girls that held their nerve and secured the historic victory.
