In a gripping contest at The Hundred, Georgia Redmayne's exceptional work with the gloves to run out Ryana Macdonald Gay played a pivotal role in helping the London Spirit secure a thrilling tie against the Oval Invincibles.

London Spirit put up only 113 runs on board owing to a top-order collapse induced by Marizanne Kapp's sensational four wicket haul.

While the Spirit began the chase on the back foot, Indian veteran all-rounder Deepti Sharma brought them back into the contest with three important wickets while allowing just 18 runs in her 20-ball spell.

That being said, the game went down to the wire as Kapp's 47-run knock kept Invincibles in the hunt. With four needed off the final five balls, Ryana Macdonald Gay added the pressure on herself with two dot balls.

While she scored 2 runs on the 98th delivery, Oval Invincibles' ask was reduced to 2 runs off the final 100th delivery.

Meanwhile, Macdonald Gay mistimed her swing across the line off Gibson's fuller delivery. While the batters completed a run, Macdonald Gay was caught short of her crease while sprinting for the second one.

Charlie Dean's rocket throw was collected well by London wicket-keeper Georgia Redmayne. And despite not being in her best position, Georgia managed to dislodge the bails just in time to catch Ryana short of the crease, thus resulting in a tie.

Notably, The Hundred tournament does not have the concept of a Super Over. If a knockout game is tied, a final five-ball face is conducted to produce a winner.

However, for the league stages, both sides i.e London Spirit and Oval Invincible will have to share a point each.
