In a surprising revelation that has stirred conversations among cricket fans, Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza has named India's captain, Rohit Sharma, as his favourite batter of all time, thus snubbing modern greats like Virat Kohli and Babar Azam.

Indian World Cup-winning captain Rohit Sharma's legacy in the sport of cricket is unmatched. Having made his international debut way back in 2007, Rohit took time to find his identity and unleashed his true potential as an explosive opener.

Rohit Sharma also proved himself to be a potent captain by leading the Mumbai Indians to five IPL titles before eventually winning a World Cup for the Indian cricket team.

Needless to say, Rohit Sharma's record-breaking performances, including multiple double centuries in ODIs and consistent runs in Test cricket, have solidified his status as one of the modern greats, and Zimbabwe veteran all-rounder Sikandar Raza wholeheartedly agrees.

Sikandar Raza, who played a pivotal role in Zimbabwe's cricket setup, expressed his preference for Rohit Sharma in a recent interview. When asked about his favourite batter from world cricket, Raza chose Sharma over Kohli and Babar, two of the most celebrated batsmen in contemporary cricket.

While Virat Kohli and Babar Azam are often lauded for their aggressive batting styles and remarkable consistency, Raza's preference for Sharma highlights the latter's unique quality of hitting from the front without any pressure or burden to carry the team through.

That being said, Rohit Sharma is currently on national duty featuring in the three-game ODI series against Sri Lanka. While the first game was tied, the second game will go on floors today at Colombo.
