In the 15th match of The Hundred between London Spirit Women and Oval Invincibles Women at Lord's Cricket Ground, the highly anticipated performance of Meg Lanning fell short. 

The star batter, playing for London Spirit Women, managed to score only 1 run before being dismissed.

Oval Invincibles Women won the toss and elected to bowl first, a decision that quickly paid off. The early breakthrough came in the first over, thanks to South African all-rounder Marizanne Kapp. 

Bowling over the wicket, Kapp delivered a fuller-length ball outside off stump. The delivery came back in sharply, beating the inside edge of Lanning’s bat as she attempted to push it towards mid-off. The ball struck the top of the off stump, sending the Australian cricketer back to the pavilion.

Kapp's early strike set the tone for the Oval Invincibles Women, who continued to put pressure on the London Spirit Women. Kapp, showcasing her all-round prowess, dismantled the top order by taking two crucial wickets. 

Her exceptional performance provided a solid foundation for Georgia Redmayne and Cordelia Griffith to build upon.

Despite the early loss of their key batter, London Spirit Women fought hard to recover from the early setback. However, the disciplined bowling attack of Oval Invincibles Women ensured they maintained control throughout the innings.
