Bangladesh fielders had a forgettable moment on the field as their lazy effort allowed Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel to steal four runs by running between the wickets.

The incident grabbed limelight on day 2 of the ongoing first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh at rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

It happened during the 49th over of Pakistan's innings when Shakeel and Rizwan had already formed a fighting stand for the fifth wicket.

As Bangladesh were desperate to break the partnership, skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto brought right-arm pacer Nahid Rana into the attack.

The promising speedster came over the wicket straightaway for Pakistan's newly appointed vice-captain, Saud Shakeel

He started his over with a full-length delivery that went slightly away from Shakeel after pitching around the fourth stump line.

However, the southpaw used the crease beautifully, driving the ball gloriously through the mid-off.

After the misfield at mid-off, Skipper Najmul Shanto ran from short mid-on to collect the ball. The ball slowly travelled towards the fence, with Rizwan and Shakeel completing four runs even before Shanto could collect it.

Pakistan stabilise the innings after early jitters

Earlier in the game, Pakistan had a disastrous start to their innings, losing crucial wickets of Abdullah Shafique, Shan Masood and Babar Azam.

Before getting dismissed, Saim Ayub struck a flamboyant half-century before Shakeel and Rizwan held the fort to help the hosts breach the 200-run mark.
