SRH Blanks Rishabh Pant’s LSG In Ekana
SRH doused LSG by six wickets in a high-scoring cracker at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. LSG batted first and hauled 205-7 from 20 overs courtesy of splendid 60s from openers Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram. Nicholas Pooran also clubbed 45 from 26 balls to turbo-charge the LSG innings at the death. For SRH, fast bowler Eshan Malinga unfurled the spell of the high-scoring innings with figures of 2-28.
In response, Abhishek Sharma blasted 59 from just 20 balls to get SRH off to a flier. Ishan Kishan chipped in with a swift 28-ball 35 while Heinrich Klaasen muscled 47 from 28 balls. Kamindu Mendis also compiled 32 before retiring himself out as SRH romped home with 10 balls to spare.
RCB Ropes In Muzarabani As Ngidi’s Replacement
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise roped in Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani as a replacement for South African paceman Lungi Ngidi for the remainder of the IPL 2025 season. Muzarabani was acquired by RCB for a sum of Rs. 75 lakhs, and his presence will be effective from May 26 onwards.
Ngidi is set to fly back to South Africa ahead of the IPL 2025 playoffs, as the speedster is slated to join his national side for the 2025 WTC final match against Australia. Muzarabani is yet to play a single IPL match in his career, and the 28-year-old will become only the fifth Zimbabwe cricketer to feature in the history of the tournament.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz Joins Lahore Qalandars For PSL Playoffs
Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been signed in by the Lahore Qalandars franchise for the playoffs section of the PSL 2025 season. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has also granted an NOC to the cricketer, who will travel to Pakistan by Tuesday.
The Lahore Qalandars franchise, under the leadership of Shaheen Afridi, is scheduled to play the Eliminator of the PSL 2025 season on Thursday, May 22 in Lahore.
BCCI Debunks India’s Asia Cup Withdrawal Rumours
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has debunked rumours about Team India withdrawing itself from the upcoming 2025 Asia Cup. Earlier in the day, reports of India’s boycott of the continental event spread like wildfire across all news outlets and social media platforms.
However, Devajit Saikia has cleared that the BCCI has not discussed or written to anyone regarding the future of the tournament. India is scheduled to host the 2025 T20 Asia Cup later this year, which itself will serve as a prelude to the 2026 T20 World Cup.
Emirates Board Add Extra T20I To UAE Vs BAN Series
The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has added an extra T20I to UAE’s ongoing home series against Bangladesh. The third match will now be played on May 21 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The extended series will likely come in handy for the Bangladesh team in their preparations for the upcoming five-match tour of Pakistan.
The series launched with Bangladesh defeating UAE by 27 runs in Sharjah on May 17.
