Abhishek Sharma slapped an 18-ball half-century by unleashing a barrage of sixes against LSG’s Ravi Bishnoi in the seventh over of the SRH run-chase. The explosive left-handed opener blasted 59 runs in all from just 20 deliveries as the ‘Orange Army’ raced to 99 runs in less than eight overs.
Abhishek’s six-hitting spree even prompted former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh to express his admiration for the youngster with a daring social media post. Taking to X, Yuvraj asked the youngster if he has hit six sixes or seven maximums so far in his innings.

As it turned out, Yuvraj Singh might have jinxed Abhishek Sharma’s rampage as the firebrand SRH opener was dismissed mere moments after the former cricketer’s post on X. Nonetheless, Yuvraj had jokingly asked the Punjab-based cricketer if he had hit six or seven sixes so far in the game.
After racing to 59* from 19 balls courtesy of four successive maximums off a single Ravi Bishnoi over, Abhishek mistimed one towards extra cover off Digvesh Rathi.
Earlier in the match, hosts LSG batted first and mounted 205-7 from 20 overs. Opening batters Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram smeared burgeoning 60s at the top of the order and shared a rapid 115-run stand in just a little more than 10 overs.
Nicholas Pooran also unleashed an explosive 26-ball 45 at the death. For SRH, Eshan Malinga unfurled the spell of the high-scoring innings with tight figures of 2-28. Harsh Dubey, Harshal Patel and Nitish Kumar Reddy also chipped in with a wicket each.
In response, Abhishek Sharma got SRH off to a flier, reaching 72-1 at the end of the powerplay and till 100 in 7.4 overs.
