KKR Knocked Out As RCB Match Abandoned
RCB’s home IPL 2025 match against defending champions KKR in Bengaluru was washed out without a ball being bowled. The outcome prompted both teams to share a point each, with RCB taking the top spot on the IPL 2025 ten-team standings. The KKR franchise, on the other hand, has been knocked out of the playoffs race.
RCB will now face SRH on Friday, May 23 in their penultimate league game of the competition.
LAKR Finalise Overseas Line-Up For MLC 2025
Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) have finalized their entire 18-player line-up for the MLC 2025 season. The franchise has recruited 10 overseas stars, including three in the form of retention. Sunil Narine, Andre Russell and Spencer Johnson are among the retained players for LAKR while star attractions like Andre Fletcher, Anrich Nortje, Alex Hales, Jason Holder, Sherfane Rurtherford, Tanveer Sangha and Rovman Powell are among the new international additions to the side.
LAKR will launch their MLC 2025 campaign on June 14 with a match against last year’s runners-up San Francisco Unicorns.
Middlesex Makes County Offer To Virat Kohli
The Middlesex Cricket Club has expressed its interest in acquiring the services of retired Indian Test legend Virat Kohli for either County or One-Day Cup. Alan Coleman, Director of cricket at Middlesex, described Kohli as the “most iconic player of his generation” and claimed that the club is interested in holding talks with the legendary Indian batter.
Kohli confirmed his retirement from Test cricket earlier this month. The cricketer played 123 Tests in his career, and accrued 9,230 runs from 210 innings at an astonishing average of 46.85.
AB De Villiers To Travel To India If RCB Reaches Final
RCB’s ‘Hall of Famer’ AB de Villiers has confirmed that he will travel to India if the franchise will reach the final of the ongoing IPL 2025 season. The former South African cricketer claimed that he is intending to cheer for RCB if they make it to the playoffs. Villiers remarked that he will be there at the stadium to support RCB, and would lift the trophy at the winner’s podium alongside Virat Kohli if they ever get the opportunity.
Maharashtra Govt. Proposes Land To MCA For New Stadium
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the government will be allotting new land to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to build a new stadium. In such a case, the new stadium will hold a capacity of over 1 lakh spectators, making it the second largest cricket venue in the country. The stadium, scheduled to be completed by 2029, will be Mumbai’s third international venue after the Wankhede Stadium and the Brabourne Stadium.
