With less than three weeks left for Bangladesh's red ball tour to Pakistan, BCB cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus presented a full, detailed injury report on key pacers Taskin Ahmed and Ebadot Hossain, thus weighing on their potential availability for the short tour.

Bangladesh is set to tour Pakistan for a two-game Test series starting on August 1. The opening game is scheduled for Rawalpindi, while the second and final game will be played in Karachi.

Having said that, ahead of the high-anticipated series, the Bangladesh cricket board has requested security consultation to ensure the conditions are safe to play cricket in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, BCB has their hands full as a couple of key pacers are dealing with chronic injuries. Veteran fast bowler Taskin Ahmed was sidelined from Test cricket following a shoulder injury. He even requested that BCB grant him retirement from the format before the board convinced him to change his stance.

While he featured in the ODI and T20 World Cups, Taskin has been given permission to bowl with a red ball just this week.

On Tuesday, Taskin Ahmed had a fitness test and began his training with red ball. Jalal Yunus, meanwhile, confirmed that Ahmed is being considered for selection for the upcoming Pakistan tour. However, a final decision lies at the helm of the selection committee.

On the other hand, Bangladesh's other emerging Test pacer, Ebadot Hossain, went down with an ACL injury last year in July. He was subsequently ruled out of the ODI World Cup and T20 World Cup.

However, Jalal assured that Hossian's recovery is at 70%, and the board expects him to regain full fitness in the next couple of weeks.

Hence, both Taskin Ahmed and Ebadot Hossian are in line to feature in the impending Pakistan Red Ball Tour, pending fitness tests.
