MS Dhoni, the iconic former captain of the Indian cricket team, recently picked his preferred field between an alternative career in the Bollywood industry or a brief stint as a politician following retirement from IPL.

MS Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in 2020, extended his IPL career to serve the fans for as long as he can. However, the 43-year-old’s physique is witnessing a decline as Dhoni has endured chronic back and knee issues.

His future in the 2025 IPL season is also uncertain due to retention policy impacting the mega auction. Chennai Super Kings will evaluate its priorities before taking a decision on Dhoni’s retention.

That being said, MS Dhoni’s cricketing career is more or less over. Recently, at the Asian Footwear Program, Dhoni was asked to reveal his choice of Bollywood or Politics if given a chance to have an alternate career.

While the former CSK captain picked Bollywood, he refused to venture out as an actor. He would rather play an impactful role behind the scenes as a producer or director.

Notably, MS Dhoni owns a production house named ‘Dhoni Entertainment Pvt Ltd.' Not only that, his inspiring journey has already been immortalised in Bollywood through the successful biopic "M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story," starring late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

MS is also involved in Bollywood’s inner circle, which features superstar Salman Khan. Hence, his inclination towards the Bollywood industry is understandable.

However, momentarily, MS Dhoni's focus remains on IPL. While he wants to play for another year, his fitness and IPL's evolving dynamics might prevent him from doing so.
