Ravichandran Ashwin is one of the finest bowlers India has ever produced, but he is quite a handy batter too, and with every year, his batting seems to go a notch higher. Now in the TNPL Eliminator, he has unleashed yet another glorious batting chapter as he smashed 57 off 35 balls and took Dindigul Dragons to the Qualifier 2 of the 2024 season.

Chepauk Super Gillies scored 158 while batting first with captain Baba Aparajith scoring 72 off 54 balls. In reply, Dindigul Dragons chased down the target in the final over and Shivam Singh's 64 off 49 balls along with Ashwin's fifty played a big role in it. Ashwin hit four sixes as well, along with four fours, and his knock at number 3 provided great impetus to the chase.

One of those sixes was hit out of the ground over wide long on, and it was followed by some classical hitting all over the ground. He eventually departed in the 14th over, but Dindigul were in pretty good position by then and went onto win the Eliminator by four wickets.

Dindigul Dragons will now face-off against IDream Tirppur Tamizhans in the Qualifier 2 on 2nd of August and the winner of that game will play against Lyca Kovai Kings in the final.
