The Border-Gavaskar series is just around the corner and the Australian players have already started the mind-games by praising the Indian cricketers and complimenting them for their game-play. The latest to play mind-games with the Indian side is All-rounder, Glenn Maxwell.

Maxwell expressed his admiration for India's spin duo of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja and asserted that the duo often dictate the outcome of the game against the Aussies.

Ashwin-Jaddu have stellar record Vs Australia

Both Ashwin and Jadeja have stellar Test numbers against the Australian team and have dominated them in both home and away conditions. The duo will once again hold the key as India travel to Australia for a 5-match Test series, starting November 22.

Talking about their stats against Australia, Ashwin has bagged 114 wickets in 22 Tests, and also has slammed 543 runs with the bat. Meanwhile, Jadeja has also impressed against the Australian side, picking up 89 wickets in 17 matches, to go with 570 runs.

Speaking to Star Sports, Maxwell praised the India spin duo, and lauded both the bowlers for their consistencies throughout years.

"I think that over a long period of time, having played against guys like Ashwin and Jadeja, those two seem to have always been the ones we've faced consistently, and the battles we've had with them have often dictated the outcome of the game."

"If we play well against those two (Ashwin, Jadeja), we'll generally find ourselves in a better position compared to when they've had a field day and run through us. Those two guys have been there for most of my career, being of a similar age," he added.

India-Australia gear up for crucial BGT clash

The highly-anticipated series will start with the first Test in Perth, a ground where India have not tasted much of a success. However, the Rohit Sharma led side will be relatively confident as Team India have won the last 4 Border-Gavaskar series, and the last time, Australia defeated India in a Test series was way back in the 2014-15 tour.

Moreover, India have been the victorious side on the last two tours Down Under, winning the series in 2018, and 2020 by the margin of 2-1. As a result, despite playing away from home, Team India will have the upper hand against the Aussies.
