IPL 2025: 5 Players LSG Will Retain Ahead Of Mega Auction

The mega auction ahead of the IPL 2025 makes things interesting for the fans and followers of the leagues. With retentions and releases on the card, it is expected that there will be some major changes in the team dynamics.

The Lucknow Super Giants have been one of the newest members in the tournament. They performed well in their first two seasons making it to the play-offs. However, in IPL 2024 Lucknow Super Giants failed to go past the league stage. 

Ahead of the IPL 2025, LSG will be looking to form a strong team along with the players that they have and buying some other big names in the mega auction. The BCCI will reportedly allow five retentions for each franchises without any RTMs. 

Here are the five players the LSG might look to retain ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction - 

5. Mayank Yadav

The Indian pacer impressed everyone with his sheer pace in IPL 2024. However, Mayank Yadav could no play the whole tournament as he picked up an injury and was ruled out of the tournament. However, Mayank Yadav could be a huge asset for the team in the future and hence LSG will definitely look to hold onto him. 

4. Ravi Bishnoi

In his still young career, Ravi Bishnoi has evolved brilliantly as a T20 bowler. With his ability to deceive the batters with his variations Bishnoi becomes important part of his team, especially in the middle-overs. He has been an important part of the set-up for the past three years and they will be looking to carry him ahead as an integral part  of the core. 

3. Marcus Stoinis

The Australian opener is an asset to any T20 team he is a part of. Marcus Stoinis has the ability to win his team with either the bat or the all and change the complexion of any match. The experience of Stoinis becomes priceless for the team as he can adapt himself to the game situation and play accordingly.

2. Nicholas Pooran

The West Indian keeper batter has emerged as one of the best batter in the format. Nicholas Pooran has evolved to a stage where he can now be a match winner for his team at any stage. In the last 15-16 months, Pooran has dominated the scenario of world T20. Given the dynamism and destruction he adds to their batting line-up, LSG will expectedly retain him. 

1. KL Rahul

There were speculations of KL Rahul leaving the franchise ahead of IPL 2025. However, the owner of the team has recently rubbished the rumours saying the Rahul will stay in LSG. His presence in the squad gives them a solid opener and an experienced captain. If no major developments occur in the meanwhile, KL Rahul will be the first retention of LSG ahead of IPL 2025.
