India's star spinner Yuzvedra Chahal is gearing up for the upcoming domestic season as he will feature for Haryana in the forthcoming edition of Ranji Trophy 2024-25.  Chahal is currently out of the Indian set-up, having last played for the Men in Blue in August 2023 against the West Indies.

Recently, the right-arm leg spinner played county cricket, where he was featured for Northamptonshire CCC. Chahal had a brilliant outing with the county side, claiming 24 wickets at an average of 17, including three five-wicket hauls and two four-wicket hauls.

Yuzi Chahal Eyes Test Debut

Recently, Yuzi spoke about his stint with the county side and said he is eyeing a place in the Indian team for red-ball cricket. Chahal stated that he is eyeing a place in the upcoming India tour to England in 2025.

"County Cricket Is Tough, it gave me an opportunity to showcase my skills against a very good standard of cricket. With India touring England next year, I wanted to prove my capabilities," he said.

In 2025, India will tour England for a five-match Test series. The Rohit Sharma-led side have a hectic red-ball schedule in the upcoming few months, as they will host New Zealand for a three-match Test series and then travel to Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2025 for a five-match Test series.

It is worth noting that Chahal has never played a single test match for India, as the management has preferred Kuldeep Yadav to be ahead of him in the pecking order. Nonetheless, Chahal is hoping for a selection in the upcoming England squad based on his county stint with Northamptonshire CCC.
