In a significant development, the BCCI has revealed the schedule for the much-anticipated Test series between India and England next year. Notably, India will face the Englishmen in five Test matches in their backyard in 2025. 

The series will begin with the first game at Headingley, Leeds, with the iconic Edgbaston in Birmingham hosting the subsequent encounter. 

The caravan will then shift to London, with the home of cricket, Lord's, set to host the third Test match of the series. 

The penultimate affair will be played at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester following which both teams will head back to London for the decider at the Oval.

  • 1st Test: June 20-24, Headingley, Leeds
  • 2nd Test: July 2-6, Edgbaston, Birmingham
  • 3rd Test: July 10-14, Lord's, London
  • 4th Test: July 23-27, Old Trafford, Manchester
  • 5th Test: July 31-August 4, The Oval, London

Thus, India and England will cross swords in five Test matches in the June-August cricketing window of the English summer. 

Therefore, as the high-octane series will clash with The Hundred, several English players might miss the white-ball tournament owing to national commitment. 

Regarding India, the Rohit Sharma-led side is gearing up to host Bangladesh in two Tests and three T20Is in September-October. The series holds significant importance for India, as it's a part of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle.
