The second Test between India and Bangladesh has been frustrating for cricket lovers so far, with only 35 overs possible on Day 1. The chances of play on Day 2 are also looking pretty bleak, as evident from the visuals of Indian players travelling back to their hotels. The drainage system is also a problem at the Green Park Stadium, which increased the trouble for the groundsmen working hard to get the ground ready for some action.
In a video released by ANI on their official X handle, Team India's bus is seen leaving the Green Park Stadium. According to reports, the Bangladesh team has also left the ground after seeing the deteriorating ground condition. As far as rain is concerned, it is playing hide-and-seek at the moment, and it looks like the day will be called off early, with both teams not even present at the ground.
2nd Test Likely To End In A Draw After Frequen Rain Interruptions
The weather though is expected to get better from Day 3 onwards, as there are just light showers expected on Sunday morning. We might get full day's play on the final two days, but it would be difficult to dish out a result from the game with almost two full days lost. On Day 1, the match started an hour late, and Bangladesh have scored 107 runs with three wickets down. Akash Deep picked two wickets for India after a decent start for the visitors, while Ravi Ashwin got the big wicket of Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto.
India are leading the series by a 1-0 margin after a thumping win in Chennai, and would be hoping that they get enough time to force the result, as crucial WTC points are up for grabs as well.
