Young Indian batter Priyansh Arya is eager to represent Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League. The Delhi-based cricketer has also named batting stalwart Virat Kohli his favourite cricketer. 

Priyansh Arya became an overnight hero after smashing six successive sixes for South Delhi Superstarz against North Delhi Strikers in the Delhi Premier League 2024. The swashbuckling southpaw broke several records in T20s alongside his partner-in-crime and South Delhi skipper, Ayush Badoni, who slammed the third-highest individual score in the shortest format. 

Speaking to Sports Yaari, Arya expressed his desire to play for RCB in the IPL, as he idolises Virat Kohli, the face of the franchise. He even stated that he would try his heart out to help RCB break their seventeen-year trophy drought and clinch their first IPL title. 

"I want to play with RCB because Virat Kohli is my favourite batsman and RCB has never won the IPL title till date - I want to help in that," Priyansh Arya said. 

Priyansh Arya's performance in DPL 2024

Known for his ability to smash the ball with brute force, Priyansh Arya has set the DPL 2024 on fire with his scintillating performances. The left-handed opener started his campaign with three consecutive fifties before slamming a breezy 55-ball 107* against Purani Dilli-6. 

He followed it up with a breathtaking 42-ball 88 against Central Delhi Kings before notching up another hundred in the tournament. Thus, given his batting exploits in the tournament, it won't be surprising if he goes under the hammer and finds a bidder in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
