Rahkeem Cornwall endured a nightmare over against Shai Hope in the 2023 CPL, conceding 32 runs—one of the most expensive overs in tournament history.

Hope, in blistering form, began by slashing a four through covers, followed by three consecutive sixes that rattled Cornwall. A desperate full toss was heaved over square leg for another maximum, bringing up Hope's century.

The over ended with a final boundary through deep cover, leaving Cornwall reeling and sealing his place in the CPL record books for all the wrong reasons.

Guyana Amazon Warriors posted a formidable 226/7, with Shai Hope's 106 off 44 leading the charge, and they went on to defeat Barbados Royals by 88 runs.

Kieron Pollard found himself on the wrong side of the action when he conceded 32 runs in a single over to Darren Bravo during a CPL 2018 match.

Bravo unleashed a barrage of sixes, beginning with a powerful shot over deep mid-wicket, followed by a huge hit that sailed outside the ground. Pollard tried to adjust but overcooked a delivery outside off, which Bravo sliced effortlessly into the long-on stands.

With the over spiralling out of control, Pollard's slower ball was also dispatched high over the sightscreen for another maximum.

Coming to the game, Trinbago Knight Riders chased down Pollard-led St Lucia Stars' target of 213, winning the match by 5 wickets with 1 ball to spare, thanks largely to Darren Bravo's unbeaten 94 off 36 balls.

Wahab Riaz experienced a torrid over in CPL 2021, conceding 32 runs to Andre Russell, marking one of the most expensive overs in CPL history.

Russell unleashed his power, smashing four sixes, starting with a mighty pull over mid-wicket and following it up with a massive hit over long-on. Riaz, struggling with his line, overstepped twice, and Russell capitalized on the free hits, adding a four and another six to complete the onslaught.

Riaz's over ended with Russell dispatching a full toss deep into the stands, capping off a devastating 60-run spell in just three overs.

In the match, Jamaica Tallawahs posted a massive 255/5 and cruised to a 120-run victory over St Lucia Kings, who were bowled out for 135.

In one of the most expensive overs in CPL history, both Carlos Brathwaite and Shahid Afridi were taken apart by Cameron Delport and Darren Bravo in a single over, collectively conceding 33 runs.

It began with Brathwaite, who bowled a no-ball and was punished with a six straight over his head by Delport. After another six and a single, Afridi stepped in, only to be met with relentless hitting.

Delport and Bravo smashed three more sixes between them, with Delport finishing off the over by lofting Afridi's delivery towards the sightscreen. Despite Bravo being run out, the damage was done, leaving Brathwaite and Afridi reeling from the onslaught.

In the match, Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel posted a totale of 134/5 in their 14 overs, ultimately winning by 18 runs (D/L method) against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, who managed only 123/7.

Nyeem Young and Jason Holder combined to deliver the most expensive overs in the tournament’s history during CPL 2024, conceding 36 runs to Corbin Bosch and Dominic Drakes.

The over began with Young, who bowled a wide and then a full toss that Drakes promptly dispatched over midwicket for a six. Another no-ball followed, leading to more carnage as Bosch took over, smashing three sixes and a four off Young’s errant deliveries.

To make matters worse, Nyeem Young overstepped again, gifting a free-hit that Bosch converted into another six. Holder, stepping in to complete the over, delivered a perfect yorker to limit the damage, but the over had already inflicted heavy damage.

As the Patriots posted 197/6 which Barbados Royals chased in just 18.3 overs to win the match by 6 wickets with 9 balls to spare.
