Taking the attack to the North Delhi Strikers, the two South Delhi batters plundered twin centuries, and blazed their team to a match-winning 300-plus total.

South Delhi Superstarz hammered down 308 runs at the expense of just five wickets against North Delhi Strikers in match 23 of the DPL 2024 season. 

The high-scoring total helped them surpass SRH’s 287-run effort from IPL 2024 to notch up the second highest score in T20 history, and the highest ever recorded at an Indian venue.

Priyansh Arya hits 6 Sixes in an Over

South Delhi Superstarz opener Priyansh Arya belted 10 boundaries and 10 sixes to make 120 runs from just 50 deliveries. 

Remarkably, Arya launched six of those maximums in succession off a single Manan Bhardwaj over. The feat helped the youngster emulate Yuvraj Singh and Ravi Shastri to join a rare club of Indian cricketers with the feat of smacking six sixes in six deliveries off an over.

Badoni goes past Gayle to record most sixes in an innings

Priyansh Arya’s captain and partner-in-crime Ayush Badoni mounted 165 runs from just 55 deliveries to top-score in his team’s 308-run total. 

Badoni hit 19 sixes in his turbulent knock to break the all-time record of legendary West Indies opener Chris Gayle. Back during a 2017 BPL match, Gayle had pummeled 18 maximums in his knock of 146 runs.

With Badoni now overtaking the perennial T20 legend, he now holds the record of hitting the highest number of sixes in a single T20 inning.

Priyansh and Badoni register highest partnership in T20s

Priyansh Arya and Ayush Badoni shared 286 runs together for the second wicket to set up their team’s 300-plus total. 

Their latest batting blitzkrieg helped them scale the highest-ever partnership ever recorded in the history of T20 cricket, going past Japan’s L Yamamoto-Lake and K Kadowaki-Fleming.

Moreover, they also soared past Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers’ stand of 229 runs from IPL 2016 to list the highest T20 partnership involving at least one Indian player.
