Punjab Kings batter, Shashank Singh has come out in support of Virat Kohli after the criticism the India legend has received from Amit Mishra.

Shashank stated that Virat Kohli is a down to earth person, and is like his best friend, giving lots of tips.

Recently, Indian leg-spinner, Amit Mishra, lashed out at Virat Kohli in an interview for being a changed person after getting fame, money and India captaincy. He further added that Kohli hardly has any friends in the dressing room, and it is partially due to his own behaviour.

Shashank comes out to support Virat Kohli

However, in an recent interview with InsideSport, Shashank mentioned that he had a lengthy discussion with Virat during IPL 2024, wherein the two cricketers talked about the mental aspect of the game and other technical stuff.

"He was standing, I was standing. We were standing for 40 minutes. I didn't even know when 40 minutes passed. And we were talking about cricket, about technique, about shots, about mental chatter," Shashasnk told InsideSport.

He further stated that Kohli talked about technique and how to get better as a batter. Moreover, Shashank finished the coversation by talking about Kohli's positive mindset.

"He told me how to take a video, what to do next, how to work on things. He gave me a lot of confidence. Once I talk to him, I realize that he never says anything negative. He is always positive," he added.

Talking about Shashank, the explosive batter had a dream IPL season for Punjab. He finished as the highest run-scorer for his franchise, scoring 354 runs at a strike-rate of 164.65.
