Afghanistan's legendary spinner Rashid Khan weaved his magic in MI New York's group-stage encounter against Washington Freedom in the ongoing Major League Cricket. 

The talismanic tweaker got the prized scalps of Steven Smith and Glenn Maxwell, proving MI New York with crucial breakthroughs.

After dismissing Washington's skipper Steve Smith, Rashid Khan outfoxed destructive batter Glenn Maxwell with a peach. 

The incident occurred during the 16th over of Washington's innings when they were cruising towards a fighting total, courtesy of blistering knocks from Travis Head and Andries Gous. However, Rashid's timely strike brought a sigh of relief to the MI camp as he castled Maxwell. 

From over the wicket, Rashid bowled a well-disguised googly, which Maxwell failed to read. The batter had already made his mind to play an aggressive reverse sweep shot. 

However, as he couldn't read the variation, the Aussie batter was early onto his shot, with the ball sneaking past his bat to disturb the furniture. 

Despite losing Maxwell at the stroke of death overs, Washington Freedom powered themselves to 182/5 in 20 overs, thanks to Rachin Ravindra's hitting masterclass. 

In response, MI New York lost wickets regularly, being bowled out for 88 and losing the game by 94 runs.
