Bangladesh’s newly appointed T20I captain, Litton Das, has said he is ready to lead the national team to Pakistan later this month, but only if the Bangladesh Cricket Board feels it is safe to do so. This comes amid India-Pakistan border tensions.

India and Pakistan engaged in a war-like situation following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent tourists. The Indian army launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ to avenge the attack, and Pakistan also fired back, giving rise to a dangerous escalation.

Since then, cricket has been stopped in both nations. While India suspended IPL for a week, Pakistan has postponed the PSL for an indefinite period.

Litton Das Prepared To Play Cricket In Pakistan

Bangladesh are scheduled to play a 5-match T20I series in Pakistan from May 25 to June 3, with games planned in Faisalabad and Lahore. Before that, they will play two T20Is in the United Arab Emirates.

The BCB held a meeting with national team players at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday to discuss the situation and get their opinions about the tour.

Amid uncertainty over the tour, Bangladesh’s T20I captain Litton Das said that he is ready to lead his boys in Pakistan if the board allows.

"Everyone knows why cricket in Pakistan is currently off. I think the BCB can take a better call about the Pakistan tour. The cricket boards will discuss with each other to take the series forward. If the BCB feels that the condition there is favourable, we will definitely go there to play the series," Litton told press.

Foreign Players Exit Pakistan In State Of Fear

Amid escalating Indo-Pak tensions, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell reportedly vowed never to return to Pakistan after a chaotic evacuation to Dubai. Bangladesh’s Rishad Hossain revealed Mitchell and other overseas cricketers were terrified. England’s Tom Curran even broke down in tears during the ordeal. With a ceasefire now in place, both IPL and PSL remain suspended, with IPL likely to be resumed this week.
