Once dust settles regarding a superstar athlete’s retirement, the first thing that comes to fans’ mind is shortlisting avenues where they would get to see their beloved player again. In case of former India captain Virat Kohli, expect all sort of speculations.
Taking into consideration how Indian cricketers of his reputation haven’t actively been part of sought-after fields such as commentary or coaching, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Kohli also sidelines himself from public glare upon retiring from all forms of cricket in the future.
As much as one expects him to make occasional appearances, the prospect of him immediately taking up a cricket-related full-time role remains highly unlikely. When asked the same during a recent Royal Challengers Bengaluru Innovation Lab Summit event, Kohli hinted at finding peace with something entirely unrelated to sport.
“I actually don’t know what I will be doing post-retirement. Recently, I asked a teammate the same question and got the same reply. Yeah, but maybe a lot of traveling,” Kohli answered.
Virat Kohli Hasn’t Retired From All Forms Of Cricket
Kohli, who had bid adieu to T20Is after winning ICC T20 World Cup 2024, retired from Test cricket this morning. Still at the peak of his fitness, one expects Kohli to carry on at the highest level at least till ICC Cricket World Cup 2024.
With him also plying his trade for Royal Challengers in the Indian Premier League, fans will get to see Kohli doing his thing on a cricket field in the near future.
Post IPL 2025, Kohli will be seen in action during India’s tour of Bangladesh in August. Speaking particularly of ODIs, India will play three in Australia in October before hosting South Africa for as many matches in December.
