On Tuesday, October 1, India registered a historic win against Bangladesh as the Rohit Sharma-led side beat The Tigers by seven wickets to whitewash the series 2-0. The Kanpur Test will go down in history as India eyed for a victory when the rain had spoiled more than two days of play.

Bangladesh, batting first, tumbled for 233 runs, while India's aggressive approach saw them put 285 runs on the board before declaration. In reply, Bangladesh collapsed for just 146 runs and India chased down the target comfortably with seven wickets in hand.

There weren't many positives for Bangladesh from the series except Mehidy Hasan Miraj, who was exceptional with the ball and also contributed little with the bat. He took six wickets in the match, the most by any Bangladeshi bowler.

However, with the bat, he only amassed 29 runs in two innings. In the latest events, Miraj opened up on a bizarre incident from day 4, and revealed that he was stung by a bee before getting out.

“I didn’t know that the bee was inside me. After I played the shot, it stung me, and then I got to know about it and felt the pain,” Mehidy said in the press conference after the day’s play."

Mehidy Hasan Miraj Opens Up On Shakib's Retirement

In the same press conference, Miraj talked about Shakib Al Hasan's retirement and stated that the Bangladeshi legend had informed them about his decision.

“Shakib bhai told about it earlier and we knew it. He had told us about his plans to retire from Test cricket. It’s not that he took the decision all of a sudden. It has to go through a process, he had to talk to the team management and discussed it with the players and that’s how we accepted him,” Mehidy added.

Shakib Al Hasan has said that he will retire after the upcoming South Africa Test series in Mirpur, Bangladesh.
