On Tuesday, November 5, BCCI announced that the IPL 2025 mega-auction will take place in Jeddah, UAE, on November 24, and 25. Further, the Roger Binny-led board also released the list of players who have registered for the upcoming meg-auction.

Notably, 1574 players have signed up for the upcoming event, and 1165 Indians will headline the event as eyes would be on Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer, who are touted to go for big bucks.

Talking about other nationalities, South Africa have the highest overseas representation (91), followed by Australia (76) and England (52). Meanwhile, there is also one registration from Italy.

Usually, there are no European registrations in IPL other than England and Ireland, but a player named Thomas Draca has registered his name for the mega-auction.

Who Is Thomas Draca?

The 24-year-old is a right-arm medium pacer, who made his T20I debut for Italy on June 29, 2024, against Luxembourg during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Europe Qualifier Group A match played in Spinaceto.

Draca has played four T20Is since his Italy debut in June this year. He also took part in the Global T20 Canada in August and was the joint second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 11 wickets to his name from six innings at an average of 10.63 and an economy of 6.88.

The Italian pacer recently signed by the Mumbai Indians-owned MI Emirates for the upcoming season of the ILT20 in the UAE. For the upcoming auction, Draca has registered himself at a price of Rs 30 lakh in the all-rounders' category.

Shedding light on the names that are missing from the list is Ben Stokes and he will now be banned from participating in the IPL 2026 auction as per new BCCI rules.
