On November 5, Virat Kohli celebrated his 36th birthday. 2024 has been a mixed year for Virat. He won his maiden T20 World Cup title after India beat South Africa in the finals in Barbados.
However, on an individual level, Virat was not among the runs, as the 36-year-old amassed just 488 runs in 19 matches, his lowest since 2009. Further, he averages just 20.33, his lowest-ever average.
Thus, Kohli would be looking to turn things around next year and has a lot to accomplish in 2025. Thus, this article will shed light on Virat's bucket list.
1. Win Champions Trophy 2025
Virat Kohli won the Champions Trophy back in 2013 and would be looking to double it up by lifting the trophy in 2025, which will be held in Pakistan. It is still unclear whether India would travel to Pakistan or not, but if they do, Virat will look to win the prestigious title.
At present, Virat has three ICC white-ball trophies, and by winning another one, he will become the most decorated Indian player in history.
2. IPL 2025
One thing that Virat received criticism for not winning the IPL trophy. It is worth noting that Virat has played 17 seasons with RCB, and he is yet to win a title. Thus, he would look to tick that off the bucket list.
3. Equal Warner's Record For Most Orange Cap
Virat has won two orange caps in his history, the most recent one in the latest edition. Thus, he would look to again top the run-getters chart and equal David Warner's record of most orange cap trophies won by a player (3).
4. Win WTC Title
Another trophy that Virat has not got his hands on is the WTC title. India came close twice in 2021 and 2023 but suffered defeats against New Zealand and Australia respectively.
At present, India have a face tough challenge and need to win 4 out of five Test matches against Australia to qualify for the finals. In case, India qualifies, Virat would look to tick off that as well.
5. Conquer England
India will travel to England for a five-match Test series, and the Rohit Sharma-led side are yet to win an away tour vs England since 2007. Thus, Virat will look to change that.
