BCCI Confirms IPL 2025 Mega Auction Date; 1574 Players Registered For Bidding Wars

The release of the retention lists of the IPL teams created much buzz among the fans on October 31. Now, the player list for the upcoming mega auction as also been published. 

As per the latest developments, 1574 players have registered for the mega auction. Out of this, 1165 players are Indians while 409 are overseas players. The dates of the IPL 2025 mega auction has also been confirmed by the BCCI.

South Africa With Most Number of Players Registered

As per the list the most number of overseas players have registered from South Africa. The number of players from the country is 91 to be exact, followed by Australia with 76 players. 

The mega auction for the IPL 2025 promises to be a grand event as all the teams are expected to sort out their teams for the upcoming seasons. The franchises will be eyeing the best players for their slots as per their plans. 

Notably there are 204 spots left to be filled in the 10 squads during the IPL 2025 mega auction.

Jeddah To Hold The Grand Event

Notably, the IPL mega auction will travel to Saudi Arabia for the first time. BCCI have fixed Jeddah as the venue for this grand event. Notably, this is just the second time that the auction will be outside India. 

Dates For IPL 2025 Mega Auction Confirmed

The BCCI have also confirmed the dates for the event. The mega auction for IPL 2025 will be a two day affair taking place at Jeddah. The dates for the event are 24th and 25th November.

No Trade Window

Ahead of IPL mini auctions the teams are allowed to draft in players through trades. However, as this is a mega auction, the teams will get no such opportunities. The franchises will have to fill their squads by engaging in bidding wars during the IPL 2025 mega auction.
