Under Mahendra Singh Dhoni's captaincy, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have qualified for yet another Indian Premier League (IPL) final, after beating defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) last evening in Qualifier 1 at Chepauk. Dhoni's tactical brilliance were seen on the field, as CSK defended 172 runs against a power-heavy GT batting line-up.
Former England skipper Michael Vaughan, after CSK's win hailed Dhoni as one of the best T20 captains across the board. Apart from winning the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup in 2007 leading India, Dhoni has won as many as four IPL titles and two Champions League T20 trophies.
Speaking on Crizbuzz, Vaughan praised Dhoni and head coach Stephen Fleming's combination for creating a strong environment within CSK, which has helped them juggle past injury concerns this season quite well and pulled out the best from all players.

"MS' door is open 24x7 for those who want to go in and have a conversation about the game. That's where his captaincy is at its pinnacle. Tactically, he is a wizard, especially with spin. I always look at any captain who is very good is usually the one who manages spinners. Most captains can manage pacers, but it is how you manage spinners. It is when you bowl them, how you set the field, when you go aggressive, when you spread the field.
I don't think there has been a better captain than MS Dhoni ever in T20 cricket across the board. You can argue MS Dhoni's captaincy of spin is best across all formats,"
In the final on Sunday, CSK will play the winner of Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
GT in Qualifier 2 will face the winner of Eliminator between Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians, that take place tonight at Chepauk.
