In the lead-up to the highly anticipated Ashes series between England and Australia slated to commence on June 16, both teams are diligently working towards assembling their strongest line-ups in a quest to secure victory in this iconic cricketing rivalry. As the series draws nearer, England finds itself grappling with a tumultuous build-up to the Ashes.

The latest setback arrives in the form of an injury sustained by one of their prime pacers, Ollie Robinson During Sussex's match against Glamorgan, the 29-year-old pacer was forced to withdraw from action due to an ankle issue. After bowling a mere eight overs in the morning session, he was compelled to sit out for the remainder of the day.

Robinson now joins the ranks of fellow English players who have been plagued by injuries ahead of the Ashes, namely the experienced paceman James Anderson and the lethal Jofra Archer, who suffered a fractured elbow. The ankle troubles that have befallen Robinson pose a significant concern for the hosts as they approach the iconic cricketing spectacle of the English summer.

Addressing Robinson's injury, Sussex's head coach, Paul Farbrace, stepped forward to provide insight into the bowler's condition. Farbrace sought to palliate the severity of the injury; however, recent sightings of Robinson employing crutches have ignited speculation regarding the true extent of his ankle ailment.

"He's got a sore ankle, and he'll be scanned on Monday to see how bad he is. We knew it was sore yesterday; that's why we got one spell out of him this morning. We knew that he was sore, and it's walking more than anything. It's not actually the running part that makes it sore; it's walking. It's a joint decision between our medical team and the England medical team," said Farbrace.

The forthcoming scans will undoubtedly provide a clearer picture of Robinson's fitness, as England anxiously awaits news regarding the availability of yet another key player. With the Ashes looming on the horizon, the English team will fervently hope for positive updates in their quest to field a formidable and fully fit squad for the prestigious series against their Australian counterparts.

It is worth mention that prior to the Ashes, England is scheduled to engage in a solitary Test match against Ireland, commencing on June 1.
