Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Aiden Markam admitted in the post-match presentation that his side needed a lot more than 200 against a rampaging Mumbai Indians following an eight-wicket drubbing at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday evening.

Batting first, SRH got off to a perfect start their opening duo of Vivrant Sharma and Mayank Agarwal went on to add 140 runs in just under 14 overs.

But, as has been the case with the Sunrisers throughout this season, they were unable to cash in on the start and could only manage 200/5 in 20 overs.

The target of 201 was never going to bother a red-hot MI batting line-up on their home turf, and it didn't, as centurion Cameron Green launched a stunning assault to take his team past the finishing line with ease.

The defeat summed up what has been a forgettable season off SRH, especially for Markram, who was challenged to the hilt not only as a batsman but also as a tactician.

Reflecting on the campaign, Markram said that it was a great challenge for him to lead an IPL side this season. He also pinpointed on a few individual positives in the form of Henrich Klaasen and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

"It was a decent effort with the bat today. You need a lot more than 200 against MI. Boys played well, unfortunately ended up on the wrong side. It's been a great challenge this year (leading the team), great group of guys."

"We are on the younger side, great bunch to be around. We have learnt a lot as a team. Great (about Vivrant and Mayank putting on a hundred partnership). It was an opportunity for the guys and they grabbed it with both hands. Someone like Klassy (Klaasen) and Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar), did consistently well throughout the season."

Following this defeat, SRH finish the season at the bottom of the table, having managed just 4 wins out of 14.
