Cameron Green Smashes 20-ball Fifty Against SRH; Keeps MI in Run-Chase

Bought for INR 17.50 crore, there were high expectations when Cameron Green joined the Mumbai Indians camp. 14 matches later, he came to the party with one of the best six-hitting display witnessed in IPL 2023.

Green tonks the SRH bowlers

Chasing 201 to stay live in the competition, Mumbai Indians needed a solid start from their top-order. Ishan Kishan gave a lightning start with a couple of lusty blows. However, his stay was short-lived as Bhuvneshwar Kumar got rid off the southpaw.

MI needed to chase down 201 inside 11.5 overs to surpass RCB's net run-rate. It was expected that MI will send in Suryakumar Yadav at number 3, but in a surprising move, Cameron Green was promoted and he justified the decision with one of the most brute hitting witnessed in the ongoing season.

Green started off the chase with a boundary of his first delivery and didn't look back as the SRH bowlers felt the wrath of Cameron Green. The Aussie batter targeted SRH spinner Mayank Dagar, and dealt a couple of massive blows out of the ground. Markram tried all permutations and combinations, but nothing worked in front of Green, who looked like a man on a mission.

He nailed a couple of boundaries to Kartik Tyagi and rattled the SRH camp with clean striking of the ball. The second most expensive player in the IPL history blasted a 20-ball fifty that has kept MI in the hunt for a playoff place.
