Ruturaj Gaikwad-Conway off to a Blistering Start: CSK Smash their Highest Powerplay Score at Chepauk

CSK have started their Chepauk return with a bang as CSK openers, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway smashed 79 runs in the first six overs, registering their highest-ever Powerplay score in Chepauk.
CSK are playing at their den, Chepauk, after a gap of 1426 days and Ruturaj Gaikwad who started IPL 2023 with a fantastic 92 continued his belligerent form and got to his fifty in just 25 balls. Conway at the other end also got going and with LSG bowlers failing to find any answers against the onslaught of CSK openers.
The carnage started after Mayers went for only 6 runs in the opening over. Avesh Khan’s second over went for 17 runs while Gowtham and Wood who were brilliant in the last game went for 20 and 19 respectively in their first overs.
The hammering continued after the Powerplay as CSK raced past 100 at the end of 8 overs. It was Ravi Bishnoi who provided some relief to LSG finally in the 10th over when he got rid of Ruturaj Gaikwad in his very first ball. Ruturaj departed on 57 off just 31 balls. LSG would be looking to bring things in control after getting a much-needed breakthrough.
