DC-W vs RCB-W Live 🔴 | WPL 2023

That's it from the coverage of this match, do join us tomorrow on the Live-Blog for the next WPL fixture. Arnav Chopra signing off on behalf of team OneCricket. Good Night, see you in the next game!

Jess Jonassen has been awarded the Player of the match award for her wonderful 29* under pressure finishing the game for her side.

Arnav: I loved how RCB fought hard for their first victory but couldn't get it. Another disappointing day for them. They must dejected!

10:43 PM IST | That's it!!! That's it!!! DELHI CAPITALS clinch a Thriller!!! RCB remain winless. What a game. Absoulute blockbuster here in Mumbai. Delhi were easing towards victory but RCB pulled it back and somehow took it to the final over! One of the few thrilling games of this season.

Fourrr!!! Jonassen does the job for her side. This is oustanding!

Ball 4: 4

Just 1 required..

Good Strike that from Jonassen towards deep mid-wicket boundary. Perry on boundary couldn't get her hand on it.

Ball 3: 6

Ball 2: 1

Ball 1: 1

Renuka Thakur to bowl.... Jonassen on strike

Final Over: 9 required off 6 balls here..... PRESSURE.

10:39 PM IST | Dot ball to finish the 19th. Good one from Patil here.

Four!! Jonassen gets a boundary here. Eases the pressure....

Arnav: Big responsibilty on her shoulders here.

Shreyanka Patil for the 19th...

Equation: 16 runs in 12 balls

10:33 PM IST | Taken to third umpire for catch and stumping together but doesn't look out by any measure. Exactly, Kapp is safe here.

Sixxx from Kapp. She's in business now. That's good. Very Good. Will help their chances.

10:30 PM IST | All of a sudden. The game is changing here. Some dot balls bringing in the pressure.

Perry to bowl 18th...

One boundary here from Megan Schutt's 17th over. Game in balance for DC.

EQUATION: 29 runs are needed off 24 balls

Eight off the sixteenth over here. They are going well.

Arnav: They are striking a boundary in every over now. This is good cricket from the Capitals.

After 15 Overs, the score is 114/4. EQUATION: 37 runs in 30 balls

Strategic Time Out!!

Strikes a boundary off the second delivery.

Jess Jonassen is in with the bat....

Now then, Rodrigues loses her wicket here to Shobana. Could this be the game changing moment?

10:12 PM IST | Chance of a run-out here. Kapp in danger as miscommunication happens between the two batters. Fortunately, she is safe here. Just in time.

Arnav: Going well for Delhi, they are able to find occasional boundaries. Also, keeping up with the run rate.

100 up for Delhi in 13.3 Overs!!!

10:02 PM IST | Game is pretty much in Delhi's hand unless they do a blunder here. They need to ensure that they have wickets in hand.

End of 12th Over: EQUATION: 61 off 48 balls

9:58 PM IST | That's in and out of Preeti Bose's hand at point. She has Dropped a sitter here. Jemimah gets a life!!

DC: 83/3 after the end of 10 Overs

And she straightway gets going with a boundary.

Marizanne Kapp is in at 5...

Lanning Departs!! The Orange Cap holder loses her wicket!!! This is a big one in context of the game.

Time for Strategic TimeOut...

Arnav: They are 60 already which means just 91 required off 13 overs. Some work for RCB to do.

9:39 PM IST | Asha Shobana with the ball and gives away 8 runs in the seventh over. RCB need wickets.

END OF POWERPLAY | RCB: 52/2

Arnav: It's going to be fascinating to watch as Perry takes on Lanning!!

Okay, now Perry comes into the attack....

DC: 45/2 after 5 Overs

Jemimah Rodrigues is here....

The games changes in flash as Capsey has lost her wicket. She holes out to deep mid-wicket where Perry was standing with full attention.

Preeti Bose comes into bowl and Capsey smacks here for two consecutive fours. Add, third as well but will count as byes. Wait, there's another. Four in a row.

9:23 PM IST | 13 off this over from Thakur. She is struggling for line and length here.

Flurry of boundaries here from Capsey! She takes on Thakur here. Three fours in the fourth over.

Six of her over. Just one boundary by Capsey.

Renuka Singh into the attack. Can she do something for her side?

Good Short for four from the one down batter Capsey. She gets things going for Delhi.

Alice Capsey is the new batter...

Arnav: That's the start RCB needed!!

Yesss!!!! RCB get their first!!! And it's the big hitter Shafali Verma who has to depart. Stumps rattled by Megan Schutt with an outstanding in-swinger!!

9:07 PM IST | We're back! Let the chase begin. Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma stride out to open the batting for the Delhi Capitals Women. Megan Schutt will start with the new ball for the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women.

DC need 151 for the chase.....

8:53 PM IST | Ellyse Perry was magnificent today with her 52-ball 67. She started in trouble but eventually, found a way. Shikha Pandey with the ball was destructive with 3/23 in her four overs.

11 runs off the final over and RCB finish on 150/4.

Perry starts with a six against Jonassen! That's a clean hit!!!

RCB: 139/4 after 19 Overs

Arnav: High hopes from Patil. She can strike big but is today her day? Few balls left, one or two decent strikes would do!

Shreyanka Patil walks out...

Richa Ghosh has to go for well-made 37! Pandey gets her third.

Review: Given Not Out on the field. Lanning takes the review. It's Ghosh who is in contention against Shikha Pandey. The ultra-edge which confirms that there's slight edge that passes through to the keeper. Decision Overturned!

Dropped and Sixx! It has been costly already! Now then! Ghosh gets another life at the long-on boundary and Radha Yadav the culprit!

Arnav: RCB, now looking serious. They want to win this. Some serious hitting from these two.

Perry thumps Jonassen for another six!! There's no stopping her now!!

Ellyse Perry: 50 off 45 balls

And guess what! Perry smacks the next one and gets to her fifty in style! It has been tough for the Aussie but she is doing it in the right way.

Perry breaks the shackles, finally. A six takes the score past 100. Ghosh ain't stopping too btw!

8:32 PM IST | Time Out. 17 runs coming off the last over and this will help RCB Women get going tonight. What hitting that from Ghosh.

Akshaya: It's her first outing at number 4. Let her get a couple of games, Arnav. I guess my job is secured for the moment.

Alright, Richa takes the aerial root. Goes down the ground and clears long-on for a massive six!

Two boundaries in quick succession for RCB. One for Perry and other for Richa.

8:28 PM IST | DROPPED! Slower ball into the pitch, Perry plays it back to the bowler who puts it down. This was a dolly. Shikha Pandey has dropped a sitter off her own bowling. Lanning can't believe it.

Arnav: They need some strong overs. Maybe 15-20 runs overs and atleast three of them to reach a respectable total. and Akshaya I am not sure about your job now!😅

8:20 PM IST | RCB looking in trouble with 64 runs on the board after the end of 13 overs. Just three wickets down but the problem is with the Run Rate.

Richa Ghosh in at 5...

What a Grabb!! That's a superwoman! It's Shikha Pandey with an outstanding catch at short fine leg!! Tara Norris gets the big wicket of Heather Knight!

Knight plays a reverse and it to the short third man fielder Tara Norris who makes a meal of it and allows it go away to the boundary ropes.

BTW, Shikha Pandey is at fourth position on the list of highest wicket-takers in this tournament.

Akshaya: Here we see Heather Knight at number 4. Let's see if I can get votes for the RCB team analyst post.

Meanwhile, 50 up for RCB by end of 10 overs. They have lost two wickets.

Finally, Heather Knight has been promoted at 4.....Something we all were waiting for.

Pandey Strikes again!! She gets the breakthrough. It's Devine who lost her middle stump to split-cutting delivery. Maybe, now, they are in trouble!

7:57 PM IST | RCB under par until now. They are 38/1 by the end of eighth over. Strategic Timeout. But will that change things for them. Devine and Perry still at the crease.

Akshaya: Talking about calmness, no one can replicate MSD. But I will back Mandhana here because it's the inaugural season and the price tag could be the ones putting pressure on her. Adding to all these, she has to lead the young troop.

End of Powerplay and RCB are 29/1

Meanwhile, Jess Jonassen with the ball..

And Perry gets a boundary straightway. That was some drive.

Ellyse Perry walks in...

Arnav: Akshaya you made some interesting points here but I still don't understand how she is not able to stay calm here!

What!! Gonee!! The Skipper is gone!! It's Smriti Mandhana!! The pressure. The pressure!! Holes out in the deep.

Devine finds the gap again. This time through covers against Alice Capsey who is into her second over.

Akshaya: Straightaway I will say the confidence looks down. I think Mandhana is having an added pressure which has hampered her batting. They should have used Heather Knight better in the batting. She could come at number 4. Devine and Perry have been as usual brilliant with their gameplay. Bowling wise RCB is way below par and some unplanned buys have been their downfall in the bowling.

7:37 PM IST | Smriti struggling here. Can't time the ball as what she would have liked. Meanwhile, Sophie Devine has struck two boundaries in the last two overs!

Arnav: I have my Analytical expert Akshaya Krishna Polya who will answer some of my questions! Starting with what's going wrong for RCB?

What a start from Kapp!! Maiden over from South African all-rounder. She was brilliant in the last game. Bringing her form here too.

7:29 PM IST | All Set for the game!! The umpires are making their way out to the middle followed by the Delhi Capitals players. Smriti Mandhana will open the batting with Sophie Devine for RCB. Marizanne Kapp will start with the new ball for the Capitals. Here we go.

We are minutes away from the game!!

Royal Challengers Bangalore Women Playing XI: Smriti Mandhana (c), Sophie Devine, Ellyse Perry, Heather Knight, Richa Ghosh (wk), Shreyanka Patil, Disha Kasat, Megan Schutt, Asha Shobana, Renuka Singh Thakur, Preeti Bose

Delhi Capitals Women Playing XI: Shafali Verma, Meg Lanning (c), Jemimah Rodrigues, Marizanne Kapp, Alice Capsey, Taniya Bhatia (wk), Jess Jonassen, Arundhati Reddy, Radha Yadav, Shikha Pandey, Tara Norris

Meg Lanning expects these to be bowler friendly and hence, wants to exploit the conditions.

Delhi Capitals Women have won the toss and opted to bowl first.
