10:10 PM IST: A thoroughly dominant performance from India as they win this game by a massive 168 runs to win the series 2-1. There was only one team that turned up in Ahmedabad today and that was India. The Kiwis have been blown away, to say the least.
Chasing a massive target of 235 for the win, the Kiwis were never really in the contest as they lost wickets at regular intervals. They lost 5 wickets in the powerplay and were 8 down by the time 10 overs were completed. The skipper Mitchell Santner got into double figures as he scored 13 runs and Daryl Mitchell top-scored with 35 off 25 balls as the visitors were bundled out for 66 in 12.1 overs. This is New Zealand's third-lowest total in T20IS. 3 extras were given by the fielding side.

All the Indian bowlers bowled well today. Skipper Hardik Pandya was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4/16 in 4 overs. A couple of wickets apiece for Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik, and Shivam Mavi. It was the pacers that stole the show as Kuldeep bowled just one over and Washington did not bowl any over. He was not required to if one is brutally honest.
Winning the toss and opting to bat first, India lost Ishan Kishan early for 1. Rahul Tripathi came all guns blazing for his 44 runs off 22 balls. But after he left, it was the Shubman Gill show. He started slowly and gathered momentum to get himself a brilliant hundred. This is his maiden T20I hundred. He carried his bat as he stayed unbeaten on 126* off 63 balls. Surya Kumar Yadav chipped in with a crucial 24 off 13 balls. The skipper Hardik Pandya played a cameo of 30 runs off 17 balls as India reached 234/4 in 20 overs with 7 extras given by the fielding side.
It was a hard day for the New Zealand bowlers and some bizarre tactical calls by the Kiwis. Michael Bracewell bowled just one over and picked up a wicket. Daryl Mitchell bowled a brilliant last over and got a wicket, but did not bowl anywhere else. Blair Tickner and Ish Sodhi got a wicket each. But they were taken to the cleaners much like all the bowlers on show.
So, India wins by 168 runs to win the series 2-1 to win another bilateral series in India. Stick around for the post-match presentation ceremony that comes your way soon.

9:48 PM IST | Probuddha: ONE MORE BITES THE DUST!!!! This as a contest is over. And Shakir now it seems it will be a even more humiliating defeat than you expected. Ish Sodhi also goes back.
Arjun: Wow. Wow. Wow. That was a cracking catch from Suryakumar. Takes a superb catch inches aways from the fence, and SKY pulls a marvellous one. He not just just pulled the back from going past the boundary curtain but gobbled a smearing catch, after maintaining his balance there. NZ - 53/5, Santner departs. Shivam Mavi gets his first wicket in the first over itself.
Probuddha: No Shakir, I see the Kiwis going a bit closer. It will be around 60-70 runs win for India.

9:21 PM IST | Probuddha: WICKETTTT!!!!!!!! AND THE LAST HOPE FOR NEW ZEALAND IS GONE. Back of a length ball on the stumps and Barcewell looks to slog it but completely misses the ball. The stumps have been disturbed and the Kiwis lose half their side for just 21 runs.

9:09 PM IST | Probuddha: WICKETTTTT!!!!!!! ONE MOREE!!!!! or Wait !!!!! Is that a replay of the second wicket. No no that is the fourth wicket. Same ball, same shot and similar catch. It looked like a replica of the second wicket. So it is 7/4 for New Zealand in a chase of 236 runs.

8:41 PM IST | Arijit: Are we in for a run-feast? Time will tell us. But for now, it was the Shubman Gill Show at his IPL home ground, the Motera Stadium, Ahmedabad. Sixes were raining cats and dogs and the Indian side tore apart the Black Caps bowlers in the series decider.
India managed to post a total of 234 runs with the loss of four wickets with Shubman Gill (126* of 63 balls) stockpiling a century. Now, he has the highest individual score in T20Is by an Indian.
Earlier, Indian skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to field first. Debutant Ben Lister started proceedings with the ball in hand. They used three different bowlers in the first half with Michael Bracewell and Lockie Ferguson following. Bracewell struck in his first over straightaway as Ishan Kishan failed to get bat first on an off-spinner that didn’t turn much.
Soon, Rahul Tripathi came out with an aggressive intent and made sure that a couple of boundaries are smashed around the park. Shubman Gill played some fascinating shots and elegance was personified. He went on to cross the 50-runs mark in no time while Tripathi played the role of an aggressor. He tonked sixes and fours for fun and fell short of a half-century by 6 runs.
Suryakumar Yadav ensured that there is no disturbance in the run-scoring rate. He came in and played some outrageous shots but eventually failed to convert.
Hardik Pandya arrived at the scene and soon took the role of an anchor. Gill switched gears in no time and harrumphed sixes all around the ground. Be it the pacers or be it the spinners, Gill tore apart each one of them. He raced to his maiden T20I century and brought up some fireworks.
Hardik went dismissed at the fag end of the innings and soon an economical over followed in the last over. Daryl Mitchell who bowled his first over at the ultimate end gave away only 6 runs.
The Kiwis need 235 runs to win and stay tuned as the chase begins shortly.

126 (63)* by Shubman Gill, this is the highest individual score by an Indian batter in T20Is. he surpassed Virat Kohli's 122 against Afghanistan.
8:37 PM IST | Probuddha: Review has been taken by New Zealand. Short ball and Gill looks to cut the ball. The bowling team feels there is an outside edge and have taken the review. But the replays show that there was no bat in it.

8: 26 PM IST | Probuddha: The Indian batters are now hitting six for fun. The ball just needs to touch the bat and it will sail away for SIX runs.
Probuddha: Yes Yes, he got very little time to react. I think he was thinking about Gill's normal batting pace. Our friend Arnav failed to intercept the Superhuman Mode Shubman is on today.
Shakir: Our friend Arnav told us that he will start writing Gill's century article when he reaches 90....he is batting on 80 as of now. There's time!! Well Mr. Arnav, 6 balls is what it took to get him there and now he is still completing it!!

8:19 PM IST | Probuddha: OH DROPEEDDD!!!!!! Gill gets a life. It was a tough chance but he could have been dismissed there. And there you go adding salt to injury. He hits a SIX of the very next ball and is now on 96, four more runs to go. He has damaged the shape of the ball there and the umpires are changing the ball.

8:12 PM IST | Probuddha: WHAT A SHOT!!!!!!! Good length ball and Gill plants his front foot and lofts the ball over the mid-wicket fence for six runs. And as we say one more!!!!! SIX MORE!!!!! Two consecutive big hits by Gill. This is some hitting by number '77'.
A 220 is what the Indians should target from here on at the least.
Shakir: Hardik is looking to entertain his 'home' crowd. Certainly Probuddha, they are firing on both cylinders...but Surya firing is NEXT LEVEL!!
That was some hit by Surya and is a sight to enjoy even after he has been dismissed.
Probuddha: India have the firepower to still take it well past 200. And Shakir I don't think this will effect the scoring rate too much. See as we speak there is a SIX by Gill.

7:04 PM IST | Probuddha: FOUR!!!!! Wonderful shot by Shubman Gill. So we can say India is up and running. And coming back to your question, yes Shakir, Ishan Kishan needs to deliver today on a compulsory basis. He needs to repay the faith the management is showing in him.
Shakir: Ishan Kishan has been failing a bit too often in the T20I setup and needs to do well here in the all important match. His selection is under massive scrutiny.
Probuddha: Yes the spinners have had a very poor record previously on this wicket. Chahal's inclusion could have backfired, especially as India is bowling in the second innings.
