There is no shortage of talent in Indian cricket, with several promising players warming the benches across all formats. Former India captain Anil Kumble has pin-pointed pacer Arshdeep Singh and wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan as Indian cricket's next superstars.

Singh had an exceptional ICC T20 World Cup 2022, before falling off the pecking order due to injury, only to return with a string of poor outings. Kishan, who slammed his maiden ODI double-ton last year against Bangladesh, continues to have a rough time in the T20Is against New Zealand.

Speaking on Jio Network, Kumble, who coached Singh during his time as a coach with Punjab Kings, said the youngster's growth has been heartening.

"Having worked closely with someone like Arshdeep, it’s wonderful to see him grow into what he’s done for India. I would look at Arshdeep as the next superstar bowler coming through."

The former India coach echoed similar views for Kishan, who is being preferred in absence of Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant

"From a batting perspective, Ishan Kishan is someone who’s been wonderful in the opportunities he’s got. He got a double hundred and he’s someone who I think will be a superstar."

Singh will be in action against New Zealand in T20I series decider today, while Kishan might be dropped in favour of Prithvi Shaw.
