14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi is having a tryst with records as the southpaw added another feather to his cap by scoring the fastest-ever century in Youth ODIs. Notably, on Saturday, July 5, India U19 locked horns against England U19 in the fourth One-Day, where the opening batter etched his name into history. 

India U19, batting first, lost Ayush Mhatre early on, but Vaibhav stepped his foot onto the gas and slammed a 52-ball century, which is the fastest in the history of youth ODIs. He went past Pakistan's Kamran Ghulam, who earlier held the record for a 53-ball hundred.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi Takes All Formats By Storm

The 14-year-old not only has taken the One-Day by storm, but is doing great in the longest format as he also holds the record for the second fastest century in youth Tests. Suryavanshi had stuck the second-fastest hundred in Men’s Youth Tests against Australia U-19 in Chennai when he took just 56 balls, while Moeen Ali holds the record for fastest ton with a  56-ball hundred back in 2005.

Suryavanshi is in the form of his life as he is coming from a sensational IPL season where he scored 252 runs in seven innings, which included a century and a fifty-plus score.

The 14-year-old is the best batter in the ongoing five-match series as the southpaw has 322 runs in four innings, averaging 80.50. He scored 143 (78) in the fourth One-Day, his first ton of the tour. 

He also scored 86 (31) in the third One-Day and two fourty-plus scores in the first two youth ODIs.
