Ahead of India's tour to New Zealand for a 3 ODI and 3 T20I tour the two teams have released their squads and the Kiwi coach Gary Stead is keen on backing explosive opener Finn Allen.

India will be hoping to play well after a failed T20 World Cup Campaign, Hardik Pandya has been appointed that captain. The last time India toured New Zealand in 2020 the series ended in a whitewash for New Zealand at the hands of Men in Blue.

The Kiwis are all set to miss out on the services of pacer Trent Boult, after he was released from the central contract.

Gary Stead impressed by Finn Allen

“The emergence and success of Finn at the top of the order in white-ball cricket means a guy of the class of Martin Guptill misses out – that's just the nature of high-performance sport.”

“With the 50-over World Cup less than a year away we're keen to give Finn every opportunity to keep gaining ODI experience, especially against quality opposition such as India.”
