T20 World Cup 2022 Top Scorer: Sehwag makes surprise prediction

India and Pakistan go head to head in the T20 World Cup 2022 on Sunday afternoon and both teams will be looking to go all the way and lift the coveted trophy next month. 

Both teams have several match-winners at their disposal and it will be interesting to see which set of players can step up and get the job done. 

Former Indian opener and legend Virender Sehwag has now opened up on potential players who could make their mark in the World Cup and emerge as a nightmare for the bowlers. 

As quoted by Hindustan Times, Sehwag revealed that Pakistan skipper Babar Azam will be the top scorer of the World Cup.

“He (Babar) has been extraordinary. Great fun to watch. There is a sense of calmness whenever Virat Kohli bats and you get something similar when watching Babar”.

Azam has been in red hot form in recent weeks and he will be full of confidence heading into the marquee event. 

There is no doubt that the Pakistan star is one of the best players in the world and the Men in Green will depend on him to guide them to glory in Australia. 

Meanwhile, Sehwag's prediction might come as a surprise to some, especially with Virat Kohli in impressive form as well. The Indian maverick outperformed Azam in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022 and he will be one of the players to watch out for.
