IPL 2025 To Resume Next Week As India-Pakistan Announce Ceasefire - Report

In a significant development, there are reports that IPL 2025 will resume from next week. According to a report from SportsTak, the remainder of the league will take place from next week as India and Pakistan have announced ceasefire on Saturday evening. 

Notably, the league was suspended for a week after a security threat occurred during Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match on May 8. Tensions rose between the two nations and the IPL governing body deemed it fit to suspend the league. However, since a ceasefire has been announced, then the league can start next week, and it is expected to start from Thursday and will be across pan- India. 

DC vs PBKS To Play First Match

It is worth noting that while there is no update on the resumption date of IPL 2025, but it is certain that Delhi Capitals will lock horns against Punjab Kings in the first match. So far 57 matches have been played and the remaining 17 matches will take place soon.

So far, the BCCI has reportedly shortlisted three venues for IPL 2025 - Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru and it is to be seen which of the three places would host the games. However, the foreign stars have left the country because of the escalation, but now it is to be seen whether they would return or the BCCI will take a bold decision.
