South Africa will begin their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign on the 24th of October and batsman Rilee Rossouw seems upbeat about the Proteas' chances in the marquee event.

The Proteas have a talented squad at their disposal and they can certainly beat any team on their day. However, their recent form has not been up to the mark and they will need to improve heading into the tournament.

Rossouw believes that the players have had ample game time in recent months and they will be well prepared for the World Cup.

Meanwhile, the South African star has been in good form heading into the showpiece event and he will be confident of getting important runs for his side in Australia.

South Africa have been perennial underachievers in the ICC events and they will be looking to get over that mental block and go all the way in the World Cup this time around.

Rossouw said to India Today

"The team is very confident. We've played a lot of cricket over these last couple of weeks and months and, especially with all the franchise cricket that's been on, we've had a lot of game time. But the boys are ready for the first match."

The Proteas are still waiting to find out their opponents for their World Cup opener. They will take on one of West Indies, Zimbabwe, Scotland and Ireland depending on their position in Group B once the qualifiers are over.
