St Lucia Kings (SLK) bow out of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2022 as Jamaica Tallawahs (JT) defeated them in the eliminator by 33 runs.

Dismal day with the bat for Kings

Chasing 149 runs, Faf du Plessis was at his usual best, but even the St Lucia skipper was put under the pump as Jamaica mutilated with the ball.

Chipping in with regular wickets, the likes of Fabian Allen, Mohammad Nabi, Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir brought the Kings batting line-up to its knees.

SLK surrendered soon but Alzarri Joseph's unbeaten 18-ball 28 brought down the losing margin to 33 runs as the side finished their innings at 115.

Brooks and Nabi power Jamaica to a competitive total

Despite a below-par batting performance, Tallawahs posted 148 runs as two of their batters, Shamarh Brooks and Mohammad Nabi, carried the day.

Coming in at No. 3, Brooks scored 47 runs off 31 deliveries, while Nabi's whirlwind 31*-run knock staged a brilliant finish.

For St Lucia, David Wiese was the pick of the bowlers, scalping three wickets, .

Jamaica Tallawahs will cross swords with Guyana Amazon Warriors in the second qualifier on September 29.
