Hasaranga, Miller and Pollard among the icon picks for this year's Abu Dhabi T10

The short, power packed and action filled Abu Dhabi T10 returns for the seventh edition. Sides have picked some big names in the icon player draft. Apart from the initial picks, all the eight sides will be finalized after the tournament's official player draft on September 26th in the host city of Abu Dhabi. The teams will be required to pick one International Emerging Player and three players from the UAE. 

The cricketing action will intensify this year with the introduction of two new teams this year from USA- the New York Strikers and Morrisville SAMP army. The NYS' icon player was Kieron Pollard and while the Morrisville SAMP Army went for David Miller. The Northern Warriors picked Wanindu Hasaranga 

Pollard, who is one of the most destructive all rounders in the world will be joining England's World Cup 2019 winning skipper Eoin Morgan at the New York Strikers. While on the other hand, David Miller joins their platinum player and his Protea compatriot Anrich Nortje, Moeen Ali and Shimron Hetmyer at the Morrisville SAMP Army.

“I am pleased to welcome on board the Morrisville Samp Army and New York Strikers from USA to our Abu Dhabi T10 family," Shaji Ul Mulk, Chairman T10 Sports Management, said.

He also spoke about how the aim was to establish Abu Dhabi T10 as one of the standout events on the international cricketing calendar and expand the global viewership numbers which currently stand at an impressive 342 millions. The addition of two teams will only add to the league's popularity.
