The former left arm pacer picked the Aussie skipper as his key player ahead of the T20Is between India and Australia.

India and Australia will battling it out in a three match T20I series that begins from 20th  September 2022. Both the teams, having announced their squads for the T20I World Cup that will begin from 16th October in Australia will be looking forward to finalising their perfect eleven for the World event.

All the eyes will be on Australian skipper Aaron Finch and his performance in the upcoming series. Finch recently took retirement from the One-Day format owing to a poor run of form for quite some time. However, the 35 year old is still the skipper of the T20I side and will be leading them in the World Cup as well. Australia became the world champions in the last edition in 2021 under Finch's captaincy.

Even though the explosive opening batter hasn't been in the best of batting form, Former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra believes he will still be vital to the visitors' performance in this series.

His runs are important for Australia: Nehra

Nehra believes that the skipper will be crucial to the Aussie side in this series. Nehra believes that Finch is an opening batter and him making runs up front will be key to Australia's campaign and the dressing room's atmosphere. Speaking on Cricbuzz, Nehra said:

"Key player I would say is Aaron Finch because he's captain and he's someone who has not been in the best of form in the last few months if you see. He has retired from 50-over cricket, but is still playing T20 cricket."

"So Aaron Finch will be a very important factor for Australia in this particular Series going forward in the World Cup."
