Cricket West Indies is currently in talks with the New Zealand Cricket Board, in regards to a revamp in the series’ schedule. As per the original itinerary, all eight matches of the tour are slated to be played at the same venue.

With the threat of a potential tropical storm looming around the stadium, the matches of the series might even see a shift in the venue. Cricket West Indies have already stated that they will soon be updating their stance on the fixtures.

Meanwhile, the ODI matches form a part of the ongoing 2022–2025 ICC Women's Championship. The championship itself will determine the qualification for the 2025 Women’s World Cup.

The series marks the first set of fixtures for both sides in the competition.
