Indian cricket star Rishabh Pant has launched a significant initiative with the World Bank, advocating for cleaner air and collective environmental action across South Asia. The dynamic wicketkeeper-batter aims to capitalise on his massive youth appeal to drive awareness and foster regional cooperation for a sustainable future.

Rishabh Pant's Bold Move With World Bank

In his powerful campaign message, Pant draws a parallel to the cricket field in the official Instagram video, stating, "the world to a dressing room, emphasizing that we are all part of one team with a shared vision for protecting the planet."

He roots this global unity in Indian tradition, highlighting the principle ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ which means “The world is one family."

Pant Pushes World Bank's Initiative

Rishabh Pant’s involvement provides major momentum to the World Bank's ongoing work to enhance regional collaboration on air quality management. The campaign underscores a critical finding: Collaborative approaches to pollution control are 45% more cost-effective than individual local efforts.

This initiative powerfully demonstrates how athletes, institutions, and citizens can unite for a tangible impact. As a leading voice, Pant seeks to engage young people and communities, transcending national borders.

Pant's Current Endeavour

Rishabh Pant is currently representing India in England during the five-Test series for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. He made a stellar start at Headingley, becoming the first Indian batter to achieve a century in each innings of the first match.

As the team prepares for the second Test, starting on July 2nd, the focus will also be on his wicketkeeping, following his marvellous show with the bat.
