India star cricketer Smriti Mandhana has added another major milestone to her name. After a stunning century against England in the first T20 International (T20I) match at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, Mandhana has climbed to No. 3 in the ICC Women’s T20I Batting Rankings, her highest-ever position in this format.
A Record-Breaking Century Against England
Mandhana scored a blistering 112 runs off just 62 balls, including 15 fours and 3 sixes. This was her first-ever century in T20Is. With this knock, she became the first Indian woman to score centuries in all three formats of the game, , Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
This innings is now the highest individual score by an Indian woman in T20 Internationals, breaking the previous record of 103 by Harmanpreet Kaur. Her powerful performance helped India post a huge total of 210/5 while batting first.
It is worth mentioning that this was Mandhana’s 14th international century, 11 in ODIs, two in Tests, and now one in T20Is.
The Indian opener’s efforts didn’t just help her team, they also earned her big rewards personally. She moved up one spot in the ICC rankings for T20I batters to reach No. 3 with a career-best rating of 771 points. This brings her within just 23 points of the top-ranked batter, Australia’s Beth Mooney.
Notably, Mandhana is already ranked No. 1 in the ICC Women’s ODI Batting Rankings, showing her dominance across formats.

Meanwhile, India's right-handed batter Shafali Verma moved up one spot to No. 13 in the T20I rankings despite her modest score. Harleen Deol, who contributed a quick 43 runs, made a return to the T20I batter rankings and now sits tied at No. 86.
