Stuart Broad on Saturday (10 September) equalled Glenn McGrath in terms of wickets tally in the Test matches with 563 scalps in his 159th appearance. He reached this milestone in the last fixture of the ongoing home Test series against South Africa at the Oval.

Invited to bat first, South Africa skittled under pressure amid overcast conditions and a skilful English bowling attack and bundled out for 118. Ollie Robinson was the pick of the bowlers with five wickets.

Broad dismissed four batters, Ryan Rickelton, Khaya Zondo, Keshav Maharaj and Anrich Nortje.

In response, England ended Day 3 on 154/7, with the top contribution of 67 from Ollie Pope. The left-arm pacer Marco Jansen has picked up four wickets.

With a lead of 36 runs, England will resume their batting on Day 4 with Ben Foakes and Robinson at the crease.

Can ENG vs SA 3rd Test be completed under 3 days?

After the rain abandoned Day 1, the demise of Queen Elizabeth suspended the entire Day 2 as well. Furthermore, Cricket South Africa failed to extend their tour to the UK, which has left only three days for the series decider.

On Day 3, things escalated quickly as the home team wrapped up the opposition in quick time. In response, South Africa have also done well to pick consistent wickets. However, the early indication of the match result will be at disposal after the first two sessions of Day 4.
