WI vs IND, 2nd T20I: Stubborn Rohit wants India to persist with aggressive batting

India were handed a five-wicket defeat by West Indies in the second T20I of the five-match series in St Kitts yesterday.

After being put into bat first, India lost wickets regularly and could post a paltry total of 138, which the hosts chased successfully with four balls to spare.

The Indian batters' aggression was clearly visible as they were trying to score at a brisk pace in the game. But it backfired and led to the visitors' batting collapse.

Rohit backs his team to bat aggressively

However, in the aftermath of the crushing defeat, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma clarified that India will persist with their aggressive batting approach in the upcoming T20Is.

Terming the failure as a one-off, Rohit said that the think tank backs the players to express themselves freely, and the plan with the bat will be to take on the opposition in the shortest format going forward.

"We will continue to bat in that kind of fashion because we want to achieve something. Unless you try and do it, you will not achieve. So, I think, one odd result here and there, we shouldn't panic. It's just about giving those guys that clarity, and after one loss, we are not trying to change anything. We will keep the same intensity and same intent with the bat."
