In the ongoing first Test match between India and Bangladesh, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant showcased their class and temperament as they completed their centuries before Rohit Sharma decided to declare the innings on Day 3 at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. 

This century was remarkable for both players, as Rishabh Pant was making his Test comeback after 2022. On the other hand, Shubman Gill has been in the limelight after his poor outing with the bat in the first innings. 

Gill, also known as the Prince of Indian cricket, made a strong comeback and scored a brilliant unbeaten 119 runs off 176 balls in the second innings. His knock, which included 10 fours and four maximums, silenced critics and showcased his resilience.

This century marked Gill's fifth Test century, and the moment became more special for him as he was applauded by his father, Lakhwinder Singh, who was present at the Chepauk stands. As the 24-year-old player completed his ton and celebrated in his own unique style. He took his helmet off and bowed to the crowd, where his father was also present. 

Gill's father from the stand cheered for his son and gave a standing ovation. The relief and happiness that was seen on his father's face caught the attention of the fans and very soon the video went viral on the internet. 

India Vs Bangladesh 1st Test Summary So Far

During the first innings, India posted a formidable total of 376 runs, thanks to a remarkable century by Ravichandran Ashwin. In response, Jasprit Bumrah's exceptional bowling performance limited Bangladesh to 149 runs. 

In the second innings, Gill emerged as India's top scorer with an impressive 119 runs off 176 balls, setting a massive target of 516 runs for Bangladesh. 

As day 3 concluded, Bangladesh found themselves at 158/4, with Najmul Shanto and Shakib Al Hasan striving to salvage the game for their team. India's bowlers, spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin, claimed crucial wickets.
