The Day 3 of the first Test match between India and Bangladesh turned out to be an enriching one for the home team as they dominated the proceedings both with the bat and ball. India are just six wickets away now from the victory with the visitors still 357 runs away from the target and a lot of credit for India's big lead in the second innings goes to the duo of Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant.

Both young batters notched up centuries, almost putting Bangladesh out of the game and allowing Indian bowlers luxury in the final innings with the pitch easing out and getting better for batting. Shubman Gill reflected on his unbeaten 119 and partnership with Pant in the Press Conference after the day and shared an interesting story about his bat and how he saved it from Pant.

Gill Reveals Interesting Story About Rishabh Pant

Gill revealed that he was using the same bat he used during the England series and added that the bat is quite old. He then mentioned that Pant was constantly hitting his bat as part of his batting ritual between the overs or after not middling the ball, and Gill had to save his bat and calm Rishabh Pant down

"I'm playing with a bat that I played against England. So my bat is quite old and Rishabh Pant was hitting my bat so hard. I was trying to save my bat, and if Pant didn't middle the ball, he would say no, let's do it again. I said bro, calm down".

Rishabh Pant scored 109 off 128 balls in his comeback Test after a gruesome car accident, and his knock has once again stamped his authority in the longest format of the game. Both Pant and Gill's return to form is crucial for India, as some big Test series are coming up against New Zealand and Australia later in the year.
